ABOUT US
Pawz 4 Life Animal Rescue Inc. is a small group of volunteers with big hearts.  We feel rescuing and saving the lives of animals in need, truly is what we were born to do. All of us here, have several years of experience helping the innocent animals who cannot speak for themselves.  We felt it was our time to join together with one another to fight this battle against unwanted, abused & neglected cats and dogs. All of the animals that come into our rescue will receive vet care, basic training, rehabilitation (if needed),  and are fostered in individual homes as INDOOR pets, not a shelter or kennel type environment. We feel this is a much better way to socialize the animal and fully prepare them for there new home.
Pawz 4 Life Animal Rescue Inc. helps with strays, owner surrenders, and also pulls from shelters and animal controls here in Michigan and parts of Ohio.
We are more than willing to help with any breed, pure breds or mixes, puppy mill dogs, EVEN animals with medical issues or behavioral problems and do serve all of Michigan.
Please know that before any dog comes into our rescue, we will be doing a temperament test and ask that you sign a Form releasing the animal to our rescue. A temperament test is done to evaluate the dog and for us to place it in the proper foster home. Any donations towards that animal coming into our rescue are always welcome and appreciated.
Are you looking to surrender an animal?

Every year there are thousands of animals in need of a new home.
There are many reasons on why these  animals are in need.

*The family has had a baby.
*Someone in the family has developed an allergy to the animal.
*Moving and cannot take the animal with them.
*Animal has become destructive or aggressive.
*Found a stray and have not located an owner.
*Animal has some medical issues that the family cannot not afford to take care of.
*Divorce
*Cat is urinating outside of the litter box.
* So on and so on.

When looking for placement for an animal in need here are a few things to remember.

If for some reason you have to surrender the animal to a shelter, animal control or pound.
Remember to ask about:
*There adoption procedures.
*Where and how will the animal be kept.
*Do they have certain breeds that they will not adopt out.
*Are they no kill.
If they do euthanize:
*When and how do they decide to euthanize.
*What method do they use to euthanize.
* What will they do with the animals body.
* Do they sell there animals to research.

If you are looking to surrender an animal to a rescue.
Please be sure to check the following to make sure it is a reputable rescue.
*The rescue will screen potential applicants, conduct a home visit and have the adoptors sign adoption contracts.
*The rescue will spay and neuter the animal before going into the new home if it is old enough. If not old enough the rescue will have the adoptors sign a strict spay/neuter contract and follow up to make sure it has been done.
*The rescue will follow up with the adoptors to assure all is going well with the animal and the animal is being well care for.
*The rescue will ALWAYS take an animal back into rescue if for some reason the new home does not work out. They NEVER send the animal to animal control.
*The rescue usually does not do on the spot adoptions.
*The animal has up to date vaccs and has proper testings to assure the animal is healthy and the rescue provides such paper work to prove this has been done.
*The rescue fosters the animals as indoor pets in a socialized environment in either individual foster homes or a proper building that has been inspected by the proper authorities to assure the building is up to code and has proper ventilation for the animals.
(Keeping the animal in a kennel, in a garage or barn does not classify as a proper way of fostering an animal)
*The rescue holds onto the animals for as long as is needed before finding the new homes.
**** Please remember to ask if the rescue is a No Kill Rescue****

So you want Pawz 4 Life Animal Rescue Inc.
to help you with an animal in need??

Here are a few ways we can help:

1. Is by posting the animal as a "courtesy post" which means we place a picture and a story of the animal on our site with your contact info on how to adopt the animal. The adoption process is up to you as the owner and you choose where and with who the animal goes to. Pawz 4 Life has nothing to do with and is not responsible for vet care and placement of the animal.

2. Is by signing the animal over to Pawz 4 Life Animal Rescue Inc. by signing a Stray Release/Owner Surrender Form. Our rescue will then supply vet care for the animal, a foster home if needed and place the animal up for adoption.
Where we will then have any potential adoptors go through an adoption process which includes  asking them to fill out an adoption application, contacting personal & veterinary references and visiting the applicants home if needed. Once approved, adopters are asked to sign an adoption contract.

3. Is by helping you find further placement with another rescue.
If for some reason we cannot help with the animal you are looking for placement for, we are more than willing to help in finding other placement for the animal.
We can assist in giving you other rescue's that may be willing to help. Or research for another rescue that may help.
